Tuesday 28 AUGUST 2018: Diamond Guild Australia welcomed our esteemed panel of judges to the luxurious Presidential Suite of the Primus Hotel, Sydney for a full day of judging of the entries into the 2018 Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards.

The panel of judges, from various facets of the Australian Design industry included Australian actress April-Rose Pengilly (in red), luxury interior designer, Greg Natale (in Black suit), General Manager of Good Design Australia, Rachel Wye (in white) and John Calleija, Award winning jewellery designer, Guild member and technical adviser to the panel (in navy suit and pink shirt)

Each of the judges individually scrutinised and awarded a score to each entry based on three criteria innovation of design, craftsmanship and wearability. The pieces maker remained unknown throughout the process to ensure an unbiased outcome.

Once each piece had been scored by the full panel of judges the collective scored were collated into a final result and then the finalists were chosen based on their total score.

A select group of media were invited to the judging day to preview the entries and speak with the judges regarding the process and their favourite pieces.
