Diamond Guild Australia is delighted to officially announce the panel of judges that have been entrusted with selecting the finalist and winning pieces for the 2018 Diamond Guild Australia Jewellery Awards.
The Guild is honored to be working with some of the country’s most experienced professionals from the design discipline. Their expertise and passion will be invaluable in the judging of this year’s pieces.
GREG NATALE, founder of Greg Natale Design and a key figure in the interior design and luxury lifestyle industry will join the expert panel. In 2016, Greg was awarded International Luxury Designer of the Year at High Point Market in North Carolina. Greg’s eye for beauty and creativity will make him an integral part of this year’s panel.
Australian actress APRIL ROSE PENGILLY is no stranger to good design, having worked with some of the country’s most high-profile fashion photographers and featured in publications including InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar and Marie Claire. April will bring a high level of taste and refinement to the 2018 panel.
Also joining the panel is General Manager of Good Design Australia, RACHEL WYE. Rachel has extensive experience in the design world, after training as an Industrial Designer in the UK she worked with the London Design Festival, 100% Design and Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Now at the helm of Good Design Australia, Rachel is well acquainted with the innovation of Australian designers.
Representing the Guild as technical advisor to the judging panel is acclaimed Australian jewellery designer, JOHN CALLEIJA. John is regarded as a truly international jewellery design talent with stores in Sydney, the Gold Coast and London and is a founding member of the Diamond Guild. As the winner of numerous industry honors including the prestigious International De Beers Diamond Award, John’s placement on the panel will ensure that the benchmark of high quality and good design is maintained in the 2018 competition.
In 2018 the Guild is looking forward once again to showcasing the best of Australian Jewellery Design, with its biennial design event. The Diamond Guild Jewellery Awards provide a high profile, high quality competition that achieves much to raise the profile of the Australian jewellery industry both locally and on the world stage. The competition is the keystone event for the Guild and is widely anticipated by the industry and media alike.
